What is Talent at the Tavern?
On Thursday evenings, June 21 through August 23, 8pm – 10pm we invite the public to
join The Roasted Beat at Circle Tavern, 21st Street & Dune Drive. This FREE,
community-building event is open to performers and spectators. Enjoy $5 Drinks and
$5 Appetizers while amateurs and professionals sign-up and perform original or
non-original music, poetry, comedy or performance art.
Performers sign-up upon arrival at the Circle Tavern and pay a $5 registration fee to The
Roasted Beat. The registration fees collected will then be distributed as prizes at our
Grand Finale, in August, to our Top 3 performers.
Talent at the Tavern is informal. Don’t over-practice so that your performance is fresh.
Your first time will be a learning experience and it’s a guaranteed enjoyable evening.
What to perform?
Instrumentalists, singers, dancers, comedians, storytellers, poets, jugglers, magicians
and others are all welcome. At first, it’s just the practice of getting on stage, using a
microphone, and getting over your nerves. Then, it becomes making eye contact and
gauging audience reaction to your performances. Afterwards, you can relax and enjoy
the other performers.
Your time on stage is determined by the night’s lineup of performers. Your first set will
be five minutes, and you may be invited to return to the stage for another set.
There is no cover charge. The community is invited and audience seating is on a
first-come-first-served basis. Bringing your friends guarantees support and tremendous
applause. Talent at the Tavern is a great opportunity to come together, share art,
connect with each other, and get feedback.
